José Luis Granados Flores was born in Madrid in Spain. Music had always been part of the family as his father played the guitar. From about the age of 9 José also started playing with his own father as his teacher.
In the 60's José's family moved to Limburg in Belgium, where his father took a job in the mines of Zolder and Houthalen. José continued practising the guitar for years without joining any band. It wasn't untill the beginning of the 70's that José moved to Antwerp where he got to know Carlos Perez.

Aged 15 he started, together with his friend Carlos, the Portugese band : The Piments. As time went along José started playing bass next to guitar and found it to be a suitable instrument. They wrote some songs in their own style resulting in the need to add more musicians to the band and also a namechange was due. The band changed its name to "Los Romanticos".

Through "Los Romanticos" José came in contact different people with different styles and preferences. As a result he found a job as a freelance studiomusician. Years later due to familymatters he had to put his musical profession to a pause. Two decades later, via a friend of a friend, José heard about a Pink Floyd tribute band that were looking for a bassplayer. Talking about a challenge, José came into a band with gigs planned at short notice. Within a small time of about 6 weaks José had to study almost 2 hours of PF music. The gigs in question had the ideal baptising effect into the PF world and José was considered a vast member of the band.
